In partnership with the European Commission and the Philippine NGO Support Program Inc., Bagong Henerasyon conducted the “Adolescent Reproductive Health Advocacy Workshop on HIV-AIDS (ARHAW on HIV-AIDS)” which culminated in the celebration of the International AIDS CandleLight Memorial.
In collaboration with the Humanitarian Legal Aid Foundation (HLAF), the Rotary Club of South Triangle (RCST), Bureau of Jail Management and Penology of Quezon City (BJMP-QC), and the Quezon City Government, Bagong Henerasyon paved away to the donation of computers in order to declog the Quezon City Jail of prisoners who have served their time, those requiring legal assistance and those entitled to bail or recognizance. The capacity of QC Jail is only for 700 prisoners, yet it has over 3,000 detainees. The main problem lies in the fact that they cannot provide legal defenses for themselves and lack of monitoring of their sentences. A Prisoners monitoring software created by HLAF will be used in order to efficiently monitor all the prisoners’ records in QC Jail, the nature of their cases and the charged length of detention. Free legal assistance will be given to those who need it to get out of QC Jail.
